Tree Felling Inspection
Tree felling inspection prior to starting. Currently undertaking a clear felling contract for Richmond Contracts Projects Ltd. In line with the ecologist report regarding nesting birds, 24 hours notice was given to start work after the inspection for nesting birds. A pre-felling climbing inspection was also undertaken, with photographic evidence of no nesting birds. All done in accordance with the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 is the primary legislation which protects animals, plants and habitats in the UK. New surveying tool
We have been a bit quiet on Facebook at Rylands due to the amount of work we have had to get through over the autumn/winter period. Still very busy though!! We thought it was about time we upgraded our old TrimbleT41 for tree surveying. This is our new Trimble TDC600 an all singing and dancing model for the next few years. Technology moves on so fast and within 5 years our TrimbleT41 was outdated. We look forward to using our new hand held computer, on a new survey of nearly a thousand trees. Happy surveying February!!

National Tree Week
Plant Britain.. Watching Country File last night.. Another great scheme to get more trees in the ground. Ever since Rylands began we have always planted more trees than we have removed.. literally thousands of trees on various schemes. The UK’s largest annual tree celebration.
